Haiti Relief Effort
Aid in response the earthquake in Haiti has begun pouring in from around the world. Unfortunately, as we have seen in other disasters such Hurricane Katrina, the aid cannot arrive fast enough.
Read this article. What types of relief supplies are on the ground but not getting to the people of Haiti? Why the delay?
Supplies like baby formula and basic supplies have not been reaching Haiti fast enough because of the north pier being closed off. Some roads and airports are also delaying the supplies to Haiti.
ReplyDeletebaby formula, pain medication, antibiotics and other much-needed are on the ground but not getting to the people of Haiti. They continue to sit on the tarmac and in warehouses at the airport in Port-au-Prince the capital. They say that the kind of infrastructure just isn't in place. The after schocks are also a factor in the slow relief.
ReplyDeletelots of supplies are getting to Haiti but are not getting off the planes onto the ground to the people. mostly food and first aid things are in the crates and boxes, but if they get them off the planes they dont have anywhere to put them, so they can be sitting outside for weeks, while they should be passing them out. alot of American soliders went over to help but that still isn't enough.
ReplyDeleteThey had delays because the after shock of the quake. It delayed food and medical aid to all those in need. The death toll was set at 200,000 people which is terrible. What i dont understand is why it took so long to get help and aid in Haiti.
ReplyDeletei think that haitis people nedd help very bad but also i think that the U.S. should take care of own people. im not saying that haiti does not need help but im am saying that we are spending to much money on these people
ReplyDeleteSome of the supplies that Haiti needs is the health and medical care. They need the poeple to help out with thier problems. We are trying to help the people by trying to rais them money in school we should try to get more schools involved in this problem.There is probably a delay because no one wants to help them. Maybe we don't have the thing they need every body is trying to help but people are having a had time finding a way to help the people in Haiti.
