Area Soldier Killed in Iraq
This week an area soldier from Altoona who was killed in the line of duty was laid to rest. Read the article and/or watch this video and comment on what was done to honor this local hero.

I hate hearing stories about local soldiers being laid to rest. I feel bad for his family. It's terrible how many soldiers have been killed so young in my opinion it's tragic.
ReplyDeleteTo honor Matt hundreds of people, siblings and people who didnt even know matt gathered at a local church. His Aunt and Wife said there farewells and had a hard time speaking. They soluted him outside and then he was barried at a cemetary.
ReplyDeletei have so much respect for this man, he did so much in his short life. he went across sea's into another world just to keep us safe, and he ended up losing his life.He crawled while wounded into an exposed position after an ambush to call for the air support that saved 12 comrades, even as it resulted in his own death. not only did he was he trying to save us, but he saved 12 other lives. and him being so close to us, he will never be forgotten.
