The video discussed many ways in which the internet has changed personal relationships.
There was Bubbe, the 83 year old Jewish Grandma with the online cooking show, and the online gaming friendships and romances that have been created by World of Warcraft. The video also discussed how the internet and use of digital media has changed even the family structure in many homes.

Technology is changing the way we communicate with each other. Instead of calling your family members you have to e-mail them. And instead of going out and meeting guys, you have to go onto an online dating site. Instead people sit in chairs or sofas and chat with their friends online, instead going out somewhere and going to the mall to shop with their friends. I just think people either don't have the time to call their friends and make plans, instead people like to stay home and sit and chat on their computers.
ReplyDeletetechnology is changing relationships around the world. Many parents are struggling with getting their child away from the computer, phones, and music players. kids want to spend more time online then with their parents or their friends, and they will lose friendships because of it. Some people use the interent to find love like on E-hamory and other dating sites. Some actually fall in love and get married, so I guess the internet and technology helped them. I think parents should set times that their child can only be online for so many hours, this will elimate problems with their relationship and friendships.
ReplyDeleteAs for a family with a show on the enternet it could get prety in tencs. You have no clue who is whoching your showes. If you are in the bussness with your grandkids. Don't pressure themin to doing thing they don't wangt to do. Let them be a kid on the net. let them not exsplane how to do diffenrt things. Unless they want to help you. All kids should know what they are doing on the enternet. As for people for love it is diffenrt make sure you have met the person. Don't send them something that is illegal or that will get you in trouble. Just send lttle messages. That is what I would do with my time on the enternet.
ReplyDeleteIn response to what Emilly Miller said I would agree. Kids shouldnt be able to be on the internet all the time. They should have a time limit on how long they are aloud to use this technology. I think this would help these kids keep their friends and stay close with their family.
ReplyDeleteI am responding to Emily's comment. I deffinatly agree with Emily 100%. Technology is affecting our lives in a lot of ways expecially when it comes to relationships with our families and peers. Parents are struggling to get their children off of the computers and cell phones and are having starting to have no relationships with them. There are lots of ways the computer provides people to find love on the computer and for some they find it and fall in love and get married so thats one way it helps people. I also think that parents should set times for their children to be on the computer if they are having trouble communicating with them but if not then there is no harm in what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteTechnology has changed drastically to everyday relationships and other simple tasks. You can put your life out on the internet so that you dont have to actually go out and find a soul mate just log onto your computer? to me that seems lazy but i guess its all on how you look at it. people now a days just dont feel like going out and doing anything on their owns its all just internet dating and texting. you can get married to someone you dont even know living across the country and thats normal now. it just doesnt seem natural to me. yes it has made some things simpler but people have taken advantage of a good thing and made it look disgusting and disgracful.
