9 Teenagers Are Charged After Classmate’s Suicide
Last week in Massachusetts, nine high school students between the ages of 16 and 18 were charged with various felony crimes in the suicide death of 15 year old Phoebe Prince (pictured above).
Prosecutors said that the students charged were responsible for taunting and physical threats that led the freshman to hang herself from a stairwell at her home in January.

yes i think they should get in trouble. they had no right to bully her, nobody is perfect. And now she is dead, they can't go back and change anything and now they will have to pay for what they did. I think every high school has bullys and have these issus. There isn't much they can do to prevent it b/c it's going to happen. but schools should raise awearness about this issue.
ReplyDeleteI think these students should be prosecuted because it’s not right to bully a girl that moved from Ireland, it just goes to show how immature kids can be sometimes. I think students bully others because they want attention, or they think its okay to put someone down. Bullying could be lessened if they had assemblies like we do, right now I think our school is doing a great job at keeping bullying under control. I have never been bullied by anybody. I think some students in our school are bullied, but not to extremes. I think if students see someone being bullied they should at least stick up for the person being bullied. I remember one year I stuck up for someone that was being bullied, because I don't think its right to pick on someone just because they're different.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, these kids doing to bulling need to be put in hardcore jail. I think students bullying each other like that should be locked-up.Luckily i have never been bullied nor have i ever bullied other kids.The climate at all school isnt bad there is bulling though.
ReplyDeleteI believe that every single one of the students that had to do with bullying Phoebe Prince should be prosicuted for their actions. It is clear that they did a lot of harm in this girl by bullying and her and they had to of said many rude and hurtfull statements. The students that were bullying her might not of knew how much they were affecting this girl but there is always a outcome of your actions whether its good or bad but in any bullying case it is usually bad. They should of put theirselves in Phoebe's shoes and how it would be like to go to a new school but they didn't. Instead they decided to be rude and hurtfull and bully her. I dont know how these kids can sleep at night knowing that they made a girl commit suicide by what they did to her. If i were the parents of these kids i wouldn't know what to do becuase these kids. I think students bully others becuase they think they are cool when they do it and the people who do it think they are better then everyone else. Bullying can be stopped but no matter how much you try to stop it it will never totally go away. It can be stopped by letting students know that it is not right but that doesn't totally mean they will stop. I have never bullied anyone because i dont think it is right for any student to do and their is no need for it. At our school their is bullying but it has slimmed down since they became more strict about it and remind us about the harm of it. The bullying here i dont think would ever to lead to what happened to that girl but you never know. What happened to this girl is very sad and i hope nothing like this ever happens to anyone around here.
ReplyDeleteYes it was seirouly wrong of what they have done to a young gril that has not done anything to them. To make they feel like they are above other kids to show that they have power. I think that they sometise have probles at home and they bring it in to school.Really I no clue it is hard to figer out i guess they could leave the trouble they are have out side of school. I have no clue what teachers do. Yes I have been bullyed befor but I don't remeber bulling other kids. I try to stand up for ther kids that are being bulled today. I think that if our school showes what could happen we would not have this kind of problem.
ReplyDeleteI think students bully other students because of either attention from other students that might think they are funny or because of jealousy.
ReplyDeleteTo answer question #2 i think students bully others for many reasons. One reason could be their religion, race, maybe if they are new to the school just like this case. There is many reasons why people bully that is just a few examples.
