From training soldiers to dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to conducting combat operations remotely from half way around the world, technology is changing the way we wage war.
How has technology helped are military? What new challenges is it creating?
I think technology is helping the military in many ways. Kids and teens ages 13 and up can go and play these video games that makes it seem like they are in iraq. Althoug it still isn't the same it gives them ideas of what it is like over there. Also recruiters can talk to kids and war and answer their question, and they can talk to teens 17 and older about joining the army. this will help the military in the future b/c kids and teens are getting ideas of what it is like.
ReplyDeletei think that the new technology is great for the war. i think this because people that dont want to be shipped over seas can still be in the war but the virtual war. one reason this could be bad because dealing with all the stress of killing people 7000 miles away and then 20 minutes later your helping your kids with there homework
ReplyDeleteI think that this could be really good for the militarty. It keeps more soldiars out of harms way but they still get missions done. On the outher side though i can really see wear this would play with the soldiars mind. It's not natural to go to war and kill peolple and then come home to your family. It has a lot of pros And cons to it thats for sure.
ReplyDeleteI think technology has helped our military by making the soldiers realize what in may be like in real-life. I could also possibly help with the soldiers accuracy if they are playing a game where they use a fake gun.
ReplyDeleteThis technology is also creating challenges for our military. There is a big difference between a war video game and an actual war. Some people might not be able to separate each of them and take the actual war seriously if they play a video game way to much.
in resoponse to Emily Miler: that is pure gueiness... enough said
ReplyDeletei think the technology has a greater affect on someones mind b/c the thought that you acctualy just killed someone, and then can go home to your wife and kids is just a very disturbing thought.
ReplyDeletein response to Dalton Zeiders: I think your right, i would also say they kids play to much call of duty these days and parents should make sure the kids know that its just a video game.
ReplyDeleteTechnology in war is a terrific idea because it helps perform operations and helps to cut time and effort in half. It also helps those who have more tech skills than actually physical skills to get involved with war, such as unmanned fighter planes being controlled by a remote from a man 2000 miles away. The stress from this hurts them just as much if not more than a soldier in Iraq because of the difficulty with killing people one minute and within the hour helping your children with homework or eating supper with the family. Its hard dealing with the reality of taking another humans life, especially when you can do that and then go home to your family knowing what you did at work that very same day. But the recovery tech is being produced to help those from war with post dramatic stress.
ReplyDeletei agree with Emily because games is not putting you in danger it dosnt give you the scred feeling of being shot, also it dosnt show the intense heat of iraq. another thing is it dosnt show the training of being prepaired for war, if teens dont know about this they will not be prepared for the war.
