Current Events Week 4 Politics

President Obama is visiting China right now, and his visit is extremely scripted. He only met with people that the Chinese government cleared, and the government imprisoned some “radical” individuals that were well known protestors. President Obama knows this and still is cooperating with this oppressive regime. Is it a smart move on his part to go along with what China wants, or should he try to bring change to the country? Is that something he should start in his first official trip, or should he wait until later in his presidency to try to bring some change? What are the benefits of each viewpoint?

  1. I think that it would be ok to leave it alone withthe way it is. If a little change is what he want then he should see what the goverment says frist.I think that if he wants change in China he should what klife is like there frist and that is what he is doing. There could be some people that do not like the change in it. I think there are places that could us a little bit of change.

  2. well i think obama should just go with china we don't want to offend china in any way because they are allies to us also i think that he should wait untill later in his presidency to try to bring some changes. His benefits would probably be a better union between us and china.

  3. I think Obama should just go along with what China wants because we need them. Almost all of the things we have are made in China. We shouldnt make them mad because that would be very bad on the US. I think he should start making some change now because alot of people dont like him.
